Pocket Poll encompasses three fundamental features: categories, groups, and events. Categories serve as collections of various choices accompanied by their respective ratings, which can range from 0 to 5—where 0 indicates a poor preference and 5 a strong inclination. These categories can encompass virtually any area of interest, including movies, food, video games, or even more niche subjects such as favorite cephalopods. Users have the flexibility to modify their ratings within their friends’ categories, ensuring that individual preferences are represented in collaborative decisions.

Groups act as the organizational framework that supports events. To initiate any event within a group, it is essential to associate a category with it. For instance, in a group designated under the 'Food' category, one could create an event titled “Lunch.” This event would then aggregate all the choices and corresponding ratings from each member within the group, facilitating the generation of optimal options.

While groups form the foundational structure of the application, events are central to its functionality. Users are empowered to adjust their ratings for the corresponding category related to an event and participate in voting for the best options recommended by the algorithm. The choice that garners the highest votes is declared the winner, effectively resolving potential impasses in decision-making.
